Who We Are
About Our Church
Life in Abundance Ministries exists for one reason — so that people would see, experience and walk in the abundant life Jesus came to give.
Our Story
Johannesburg, South Africa
Life in Abundance Ministries was planted in Johannesburg with one conviction: that the life Jesus promised in John 10:10 was never meant to stay on the page. It was meant to be seen, experienced, and walked in by real people carrying real burdens.
What began as a small gathering of believers has grown into a church family drawn from across the city — different backgrounds, different languages, one table. We are not a large ministry, and we have never tried to be. We are a family that worships honestly, prays specifically, and shows up for one another.
Our doors are open three times a week, and they are open to you.
Our Mission
To Cause People to See, Experience and Walk in the Abundant Life that Jesus Came to Give Us.
Abundance is not a reward reserved for a distant day. It is the life Jesus purchased and handed to us now — in our homes, our work, our health, our relationships and our hope. Everything we do here exists to help you see that life clearly, taste it personally, and then walk in it daily.
Vision & Mission
Our Vision
To cause people to see, experience and walk in the Abundant Life that Jesus came to give — serving the Body of Christ as a Resource Centre, distributing Living Bread to the nations.
Our Mission
People perish for lack of knowledge. We arm the Church with the knowledge and wisdom to win, to stand, and to recover what was lost to archaic methods — because God wants every church effective, influential and relevant.
The Abundant Life
It is God's intent that we do not merely bump into His goodness, but live in it. Our three-fold purpose is to help every person:
- 01
See
As light and salt in our community, we help others wake up to the realization that there is more to life than they presently know. The foundation of sight is the born-again experience.
John 3:3
- 02
Experience
Being born again lets us see God's kingdom, yet many never taste its life. We serve to help people give up the old life and receive the new creation they are in Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:17
- 03
Walk
Our walk is our way of life, and our way of life is the way of God's covenant — men, women and children in a walk of relationship with God and one another that produces life in every way.
Matthew 22:37-39

The Shepherd
Rev. Elijah Takyi Hansen
Senior Pastor
Welcome home. I believe with everything in me that Jesus did not save us to leave us empty — He came so that we could live full, overflowing lives in Him. Every week I open the Word with you, I am reminded that abundance is not a distant promise but a present inheritance. Whatever season you are walking through, there is a place for you here among a family that will pray with you, grow with you, and celebrate with you. I cannot wait to welcome you in person on Sunday.
Rev. Elijah Takyi Hansen has given his life to pastoral ministry, teaching the Word and praying for the sick. He carries a deep conviction that the abundant life of John 10:10 is meant to be seen and experienced by ordinary people, and he leads Life in Abundance Ministries with that single aim. He preaches plainly, prays expectantly, and is known for staying long after the service to sit with whoever still needs a word.

Our Community
Life Together

What We Believe
The convictions that shape our worship, our teaching and our life together.
The Scriptures
All Scripture, Old and New Testament, forms one covenant given by the inspiration of God as the writers were moved by the Holy Spirit — the rule of faith and practice for the Christian.
2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21
One Triune God
We believe in the one true God who has revealed Himself in three persons — Father, Son and Holy Spirit — distinguishable, but indivisible.
Matthew 28:19; Luke 3:21-22
Humanity & the Fall
The human race was created in God's image to have dominion, until sin entered by disobedience and left humanity in need of a Savior to reconnect them with their life source.
Romans 5:12; Genesis 1:27
Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the Son of God, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary — very God and very Man.
Luke 1:26-35; John 1:1,14; Isaiah 7:14
Death & Resurrection
Christ our Savior died for our sins, was buried, and rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, appearing to His disciples.
1 Corinthians 15:1-8; Romans 4:25
Ascension & Return
We believe in the bodily ascension of Jesus, His exaltation as Lord at the Father's right hand, and His return in glory for a glorious Church.
John 14:2-3; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
Salvation by Grace
Sinners are saved by grace through repentance and faith in the perfect, sufficient work of Christ on the cross, obtaining remission of sins through His shed blood.
Ephesians 2:8-9; Hebrews 9:12-14
Water Baptism
Water baptism is the obedient response to the Lord's command, picturing the believer's complete release from the bondages and afflictions of their past life.
Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:4
Baptism in the Holy Spirit
We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit — the promise of the Father for the empowering and maturing of the Christian, with His accompanying gifts and fruit.
Acts 2:1-4; Galatians 3:14
The Church
The Church is the body of Christ and the expression of God's Kingdom on earth. Christ gave apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers to prepare disciples for works of service.
Ephesians 4:11-13
Resurrection & Eternity
We believe in the resurrection of the dead, eternal judgment, and life everlasting.
John 3:16; John 5:24-27; Revelation 20:11-15
Christ's Reign
We believe in the present rule and reign of the Lord Jesus through His Body the Church — resulting in a glorious Church and a global harvest that marks the end of the age.
Matthew 13:39; Acts 3:21
Restoration
The Church is in a process of restoration. God calls us to repent, be converted, and receive refreshing from His presence for the restoration of all things.
Acts 3:19-21; Hebrews 6:1-2
Reformation by the Spirit
We are committed to allow the Holy Spirit to bring reformation in the Church for this restoration and the manifestation of God's sons in the earth.
Romans 8:19-21; 2 Corinthians 3:17-18
Values & Purpose
Our Five-Fold Purpose
Everything we do serves one aim — people and nations coming into the abundant life of Christ.
- 01
To activate and develop peoples and nations to intimacy with God and one another.
- 02
To transform the world through an administration of grace and truth, not conscience or law.
- 03
To fulfil the three-fold testimony of God's Kingdom come — that God is our God, that we find our identity in Him, and that we live with Him upon the earth.
- 04
To bring the fruitfulness of the God of the garden to the barrenness of the earth.
- 05
To cause peoples and nations to see, experience and walk in the abundant life that Jesus came to give.
